Trust and Rest?

Dolly Lee Book Reviews 0 Comments

Was your body, soul, and spirit rubbed raw by recent events?

Several friends told me they disconnected from Facebook.

I limit my news intake, but I still feel a bone and soul-weariness.

Can we trust God enough to rest?

Rest from carrying tomorrow’s burdens?

Rest from “fixing” ourselves or anyone else for that matter?

Rest from shaming ourselves when we fail because God doesn’t condemn us?

My friend Lisa Burgess made the adorable graphic as part of her review of 7 Days of Soul Care.

Like most people, I need regular reminders to trust in God and rest. Thanks, Lisa!

Those who trust God’s action in them find that God’s Spirit is in them—living and breathing God! Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life. Romans 8: 5-6 (MSG excerpt)

What soul care practices do you use to help you trust in God and rest?

Next week, I’m excited to share more about the story behind the mission of ViBella Jewelry.

Finally, a big “Thank You” to each friend who helped launch 7 Days of Soul Care through sharing on a blog and/or social media.

And thank you to each person who shared with me (via email or online) how the book encouraged them to draw closer to God (which was one of my goals as I wrote and prayed.)

P.S. This post made me smile. One reason: the carrot looked like one my daughter grew from a seed. Second reason: read the post to find out. *smile*
