Michele Perry is one of my heroes because of how fully she has followed Christ by loving the orphans of Sudan.
Read about her vision for loving the orphans of southern Sudan.
She reminds me of how big God is and how much He loves. I am challenged to ask God to expand my heart and my vision. I realize that God has not called all of us to serve in Sudan, but He does call all of us to care for the needy somehow.
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. - James 1:27 ESV
Her latest post from her blog "from the unpaved road" talks about fields of buried dreams but what struck me was the resiliency and courage of the Sudanese in the face of such great loss.
Here is a video about Promises Found, a child sponsorship program that she recently founded after serving in Sudan since 2008.
If God so moves you, please visit http://irisminsudan.org/ to learn more about how you can partner with Michele in caring for the orphans of Sudan.

Welcome! This blog chronicles when I have stopped to listen to God speak through the Bible, nature, music, and others. I hope that by sharing my journey, it will encourage you to let your soul stop and hear God speak to you.
