It is Sunday night... but I want to get in five minutes of unedited writing fun [okay, discipline] with Lisa Jo of The Gypsy Mama's Five Minute Fridays using this week's prompt, Welcome...
GO.
I think of Fanny Crosby seeing Jesus face-to-face after walking with Him for 64 years. I just watched a free Netflix biography on the prolific and blind hymn writer Fanny Crosby. I imagine Jesus welcoming her with open hands and Fanny can see everything perfectly.
She became blind when a charlatan posing as a doctor treated her for an eye infection when she was about one year old. His "treatment" caused permanent blindness. Yet Fanny played hide-and-seek with the other kids by relying on her heightened hearing and other senses.
Although she grew up hearing Scripture read to her, she did not become a believer till she was 30 years old.
Stop!
Those five minutes zip by faster than my mind can work.
The 44 minute biography ended with her death at 94. I was touched by Fanny's exuberant love of life and others. I encourage you to watch this short biography and be inspired! She helped me see life in a new way tonight.
