It's another Five Minute Fridays where Lisa-Jo of The Gypsy Mama supplies a prompt and one writes unedited for five minutes. Posting unedited writing is always hard for me but I know it is a good baby step toward overcoming my perfectionism. This week's prompt is Whole...
START.
Whole makes me think of how James B. Smith in The Good and Beautiful God writes about how holiness is about being whole. None of us is whole in our sin which is why Jesus had to die for our sins. I long for the day when I no longer have to deal with my sin or the sin of others. I liked what he also wrote about how God wants us to be whole.
I know that God is making me whole emotionally - one emotion and situation at a time. I remind myself of that when I feel broken and completely unwhole. I remind myself that one day that all that is broken in this world will be made whole. God promises to make a new heaven and a new earth (Rev. 21:4???)... anyway, I long for a day when there will no longer be any war, tears, sickness and death.
Whole and holiness are connected. When I give God my brokenness, He exchanges it for His wholeness and love.
STOP.
