Here I am....just as I am

Here I am, and I will write just as I am...without editing (except maybe typos...sorry, Lisa-Jo). This Friday's 5 minute prompt ("Here") is provided by the energetic and encouraging Lisa-Jo.

START.

Here I am, just as I am, here at the foot of the cross.

I came when I was eight, and He took me...just as I am.

Here I am today, decades later, a little more worn for the wear, struggling with trust, and yet He still takes me in.

For many years, I thought "here" was not good enough, and I needed to be there, somewhere else with my new and improved me. I forgot. He took me as I am, and He still does.

So here I am, just as I am coming to Him with my fears, and my tears. No editing of my heart. Just raw and real. Sometimes ugly.

I confess here I am, and I need you, dear God, to change my heart. I can't change it, but I am willing to cooperate with you.

And, He comes here, next to me, and loves me. Here. In my imperfections. In my messy.

He loves me, just as I am.

Humbled. Grateful. Relieved.

No condemnation do I find. Only grace when I come seeking forgiveness.

Here. Just as I am. I find Him here.

Immanuel. God with me.

STOP.

Happy to be back...I have missed Five Minute Fridays, and visiting my friends.

What does your "here" look like today? May you know God is WITH you, and may you turn to Him. He loves you.

Do you ever forget to invite God into your "here" because you're too busy (like me) sometimes looking over there?

I appreciate God loves me as I am, but He also loves me too much to leave me as I am. He changes me through His love. Amazing!

Always a gift to hear from you, friend. Truly. Grateful.
