About Dolly

Are you looking for a quiet place to renew your heart, mind, and soul?

Then welcome.
Take a deep breath. Exhale.

We live in a noisy world.

Maybe like me, you can easily forget your identity as God’s Beloved in the hustle of the everyday among the voices saying “do more and be more.”

But when I stop and let my soul connect with God, I hear his voice of love. And He says I was created in love, for love. And so were you!

I write to encourage others to create space in their lives to allow God’s love to transform their hearts. And I help give others the permission to explore their own stories as I share my brokenness and God’s redemption.

God invites us to sit down (imagine a comfy armchair), stay awhile, and talk. He longs to hear your story as it unfolds day by day.

And when we listen to God’s voice of love, his love transforms us from the inside-out, and it continues to change us as we connect with Him.

[T]o remain healthy, our souls need solitude with no agenda, no distractions, no noise.John Ortberg, Soul Keeping, 140.

God longs to restore us to greater freedom, gratitude, and joy.

It’s a daily battle. Thought by thought. Deed by deed. We persevere by God’s grace (2 Corinthians 9:8).

I also write because I love hearing from readers in blog comments or emails. I learn from their words and experiences. And even better, some of you have become friends. Thank you!

A little about me

I’ve been married for 25 years to my best friend/husband. After we struggled with infertility, our daughter was finally born. In my book, 7 Days of Soul Care, I write about how God transforms our brokenness when we connect with His love.

We live with one love-muffy (my word for affectionate) dog in California. Hiking, reading, and being with family and friends (and of course, God) are what I enjoy the most. As part of my second act, I am attending Fuller Seminary.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again,

Before we can even begin to give God-love away, we’ve got to fully accept it.Beth Moore, Breaking Free
